This organophosphorus systemic broad-spectrum total herbicide works by inhibiting 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS) in plants. It blocks the conversion of shikimate to phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan, disrupting protein synthesis and eventually leading to plant death.
